Myeloma is incurable and a rare cancer of the bone marrow with more than 2000 diagnosed cases every year.
Lisa Ray, born to a Bengali father and a Polish mother joined showboz as a model and later got a role in Tamil movie " Nethaji ". Then Vikram Bhatt included her in the cast of " Kasoor " in 2001. Language problem kep her away from mainstream Hindi films. However, people watched her in Deepa Mehta's " Bollywood Hollywood " with Rahul Khanna and later in Oscar-nominated drama " Water " in which critics found her performance impressive.
